After much experimentation I think I finally have a new direction. I'm loving and have always loved sketching very loosely in ink, I've taken that loose style and adapted it to the bright, bold and large loosely drawn shapes. I think I've been quite stuck because I was forcing detailed imagery which is not my forte and never has been. I quite like the freedom here and how happy the colours are.

Fancy Folk
I suppose I strayed from my pattern design self for a while because well I just did! I looked around my house and things and my love of patterns is everywhere in my home and life. For the first time in a long time I'm designing patterns that I love. Thanks to the Lilla Rogers Make Art that Sells e-course, my love of pattern and surface design has been re-ignited. I designed my Fancy Folk ceramic surface designs today. The bold patterns made me happy to look at.

New Series and The Toronto Indie Arts Market
I'm very happy to announce that I will be selling work this Saturday at the Toronto Indie Arts Market. Please come and support local artists and craftspeople this Saturday if you have a moment. Partial admission proceeds will go to a great local organization Not Far from the Tree, which picks and distributes all the fruit trees that people cannot harvest themselves and puts them to good use.
I've also started a new series which I have been very excited to start about abandoned towns and desolate places.
